Trying to make a nice big tech file....
I'm trying to gather some info on my truck. I have no RPO stickers or anything left, so i have no clue what it had factory.
Would anyone happen to have the numbers for a factory 1977 454, casting number T0114TSD? The T means tall deck right (truck motor/HO motor?)? I know the power specs are 454 - 245 hp @ 3800 rpm - 365 ft.lbs torque @ 2800 rpm 454HD - 240 HP @ 3800 rpm - 370 ft. lbs torque @ 2800 rpm I'd like to know the specs of the stock cam (i'm assuming i have the stock cam) and all that good stuff, plus the CFM of the quadrajet sitting on top, please, if anyone would happen to have that information at hand. I'd like to hope it's a 4 bolt main. Also, there's a hole in the transmission hump that's covered by 6 carrage bolts and a piece of sheet metal, but no evidence of a manual transmission ever being on the truck. Could it have possibly been for a hurst or similar truck shifter? For the longest time my dad has considered swapping an aluminum edelbrock dual plane performer intake with a 650 CFM performer carb, and at one point considered an RV/4x4 cam for the torque plot, but isn't so sure the valvetrain, as worn as it is, would hold up to something like that. Keep in mind it currenly has 1 7/8" headers going to a 3" flange with an H pipe, stock (i think) mufflers, no smog equip, and dual's. Input? |
