Tell me if this is right?

After doing the switch over to HEI and cutting the original wiring, is there only one wire that now runs to the starter? I trimmed of the yellow that went to old distributor and am left with one purple that goes to starter. I know a red one goes from distributor into fuse panel. Where in the fuse panel does this wire go? Getting ready to start truck soon and work in the new cam, headers, intake and carb. Regarding cooling, I have a 454 motor and a new 4 core rad. Will a normal steel blade fan do the job cooling wise? Should I use a 70's style fan or a clutch type fan? Thanks for any help.
