Leaking fuel pump?

My '72 w/350 sbc has developed a gas leak, sure looks to be from the seam of the fuel pump, which still pumps fine and is probably original. The whole underside gets wet w/gas when driven, so I don't think it is leaking at a connection on the bottom.

Anyone had this happen before? Tempted to replace the whole thing, wanted to ask the board if this was a common occurrence.

thanks!
