T-5 vs Muncie 4 speed.

Hello all,
Does anyone know what the length of a T-5 is compared to a muncie M-XX? I have a six cylinder and a 3 speed in my 68 shortbed now and think the T-5 would work out nice if the length is close to the same. Has anyone done this swap? The T-5 should bolt right up to the stock bellhousing, just switch out to a fine spline clutch disk. I am concearned about where the shifter will come through the floor. Any help on this would be great.
Thanks,
