Front leaf spring question

Help, I don't want to go backwards.
My 80 GMC 3/4 ton came with springs that are 2- 1/2" wide at the ends, then widens right away to just shy of 3", and have 3 leafs.

I picked up a used set that have 4" lift (only 2 leafs) but are only 2 -1/2" wide the full length.

Was told they are aftermarket for blasers, 1/2 and 3/4 tons?

My perch's are 2- 3/4" wide and my u-bolts are set up for 3".

Should I use'um? Will they be too soft? Will they stay positioned in the u-bolts properly?

Help!!!
In colorado
