Questions on first 67/72 project

I'm putting a stepside together out of 2 different trucks. One is a '72 shortbed, and the other is a '67 with an 8 ft stepside. Having never done a project like this before, I've got a few questions. If any of you have personal experiences, I'd love to hear from you.

Problems using the 67 small window cab with the 72 nose?

Problems converting an 8ft stepside frame to a 6ft? (or better left alone)

Easier to lower a 67 frame or 72, or no difference.
