Steering column measurements anyone?

I'm looking for the "appropriate" measurements off a 67-72 steering column. I'm not a 'column person' so I'm not exactly sure what to ask you for... hub to rag length? The length of the part that collapses? etc...

As I discussed in a thread this summer, I found a place that claims they can "build whatever I want" and for a reasonable price. After contemplating this whole issue of where to put my ignition switch, lights and wipers, and so on, I've pretty much decided that the column is the place for this stuff. So... if I can get some important dimensions for the stock column, I can call these guys up again (and remind them that they said they could "build whatever I want" ), and see if it's doable.

Thanks in advance for anyone who happens to have a column and a tape measure within a few feet of one another

Kenneth
