700R4 Conversion - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

This has probably been talked about hundreds of times. I am new and I've tried the search feature, but it is not convenient.

I know a 700R4 will fit into my 1970 C10 in place of my existing 3 Speed Manual, however I am not sure what you need.

My (700R4) tranny is from a 1991 4.3L 2 wheel drive astro van.

I have:

1. Flex Plate from 4.3L with small weight on it
2. Transmission
3. Converter
4. Dip stick and lines
4. Yoke to fit 700R4

Do i need to make a cross member or do i just buy one?
