New guy from Oklahoma 62 short fleet
I am in the process of rebuilding a 62 short fleet. The frame is bare. The cab is on a dolly getting metal repair and replacement. We have rebuilt the 350 (mild). I am hoping to have a really nice clean truck but will not spend a lot on extravagances.
I am at the point of making decisions on the front suspension, steering, and brakes. I would like it to handle well. I am not sure whether to rebuild the stock front or try modifications or replacement of major components. any help would nice. I do have some later model spindles with discs(5 bolt). They do not fit my control arms. I know that 63 and up can accept later model arms but I have torsion bars. Any help? I am also looking for a local junk cab that I can get the roof off of. Mine had a sunroof and also some dents. I am not real confident I can get the right contour on the roof again. This is me and my wife in this 427 cobra. Yes, it is real BUT IT IS NOT MINE! I help a friend and in return he lets me drive this thing. The kid needing a haircut with the mustang is my son. In the future I will only bother you with pertinent truck pics. Thanks, Alan Blankenship |
