Sealing the engine

In Feb I start my de-construction effort on my 69. Pulling the cab, the front clip and bed...

I'm going to pull the 350 and trans to have it re-sealed. A local trans shop will do the trans but i'd like to attempt the engine myself.

When the engine is on the stand :

Does anyone have a good link on the procedure of re-sealing the engine or a book suggestion i may purchase or a good ole fashion checklist would be much appreciated.

TIA
