What brand hand tools do you recommend?

I need to invest in a few more metric tools and I have somewhat lost my faith in craftsman in the past 24 months.

I have been looking at S K as an alternative.

Snap On is simply too expensive for my budget, however I want good quality that I can pass on to my son or daughter, which ever one may want them later on.

Alternatives to craftsman along with links please.
