Anyone ever tried applying fabric/carpet to a top?

Again, while at a camper topper store, i noticed that the upgraded camper shells had press-molded or formed automotive carpet on the inside of the shell. it made a HUGE difference in sound and solid feel. it was very contoured with ribs and such on the inside. just wondering if it's been tried, or if you think it's possible. I'd bet it would make a HUGE difference in ride inside the truck...
