vacuum line from intake to trans modulator question.

im just finishing up the engine/trans swap on the 67 and im run into a problem. since i dont have the original intake on the truck my vacuum line doesnt fit anymore. i might be able to do some tweaking on the intake end to get it to line up but the trans end is different. whats happening is the new modulator nipple shoots straight out and the old one came out and did a 90* degree turn forwards. since i have a hard line this wont fit back on, what i want to know is can i just get an elbow or even just connect the old hard line to hose then hose to the modulator or does that hard line need to seat right into the modulator nipple? i hope this makes sense. ill attach some pictures to help explain what im talking about. thanks guys, Derek
