1 ton frame under a 1/2 burb?
I have been gathering parts to make my 72 burb a tow vehicle. It is a factory BB/400 dual air with tach and tilt. Body is a little rough and I don't like towing with a 1/2, especially a coil spring rear.
A board member has a 1 ton frame that i want to swap under my burb...........put the 1/2 burb frame mounts on it and go? I know that I will have to move around crossmembers for the fuel tank. I plan on using a 87 burb tank with fuel pump and a holley 950 fuel injector package on the 396/402. i have also seen the post about brackets needed for the auto trans crossmember, no big deal. Will my BB motor frame brackets work? Core support? Is it that the 1 ton is taller but is the top part of the frame is the same as a 1/2 ,3/4 frame but it is lower/wider Thanks, Steve |
