engine casting #s
I have an engine that came with my 68 short wide bed. I have looked up the casting #s ( 3970010 ) and it is either a 302, 327, or a 350. How do I find out what it is? Some of the casting number lists tell me that it is a 69-80 and others say that it could be the original 68. I'm lost. Please help. I have a throttle body fuel injected 350 and a 700R4 trans to put in the truck, but if it is the 327 I may use this engine.
