Pontiac Question

My son has a 1970 Pontiac Tempest w/350 th400 he backed onto curb and bumped passanger side header. Now we have an exhaust leak on the back end of the flange, we changed the gasket w/Mr Gasket header gasket ... still leaks must have bent tube or flange there are only 4 threaded bolt holes in the head so its hard to pull ends up tight have no idea what brand they are.
My question is what is the trick at getting the header out it hits oil filter adapter and cross member do we have to jack up or remove engine to get this out? Has anyone done this? What about doubling gasket? Thanks in advance for any info.
