Engine compartment, and identifying "stuff"

I'm posting this, hoping to get some answers. This might seem "n00bish", but I am trying to learn, just like others. Here are some pics, circled are some components I would like to know what they are exactly,and what they do. I am trying to get some info, I plan on putting some efans, and some other stuff in this spring or summer, in the process would like to "clean" up my engine bay as much as possible, make it look a little neater. Any advice or suggestions are much appreciated. Hope this thread helps others as well.
