Window Motor Experience
Well, I picked up a couple of window crank motors at a local surplus store a couple of weeks ago. They were not marked as to what vehicle they were for, but they seemed to be very close to what the originals "felt" like (didn't want to go through the pain of removing the old until I had something to replace them with). Couldn't pass up the deal - $25 Canadian (approx $16 US) each.
Well, I removed the original motor in the passenger door this weekend, just to find that the new one wouldn't fit. I might have been able to make up an adapter bracket, but even so, the gears didn't mesh. So much for my little experiment. Fortunately, the store has a good return policy, and I'll get my $50 back. Just cost me a few cuts on my hands/arms from the removal, but now I can say I know how to do it. Oh well, experience is priceless, right? |
