Can't find og thread / installing 4x4 front end

I never can seem to add to my original thread because it's always lost in the past pages.

Anyways. I wanted to go 4wd instead of 2wd, so this weekend I pulled out the ('77 corperate) 4wd front end and put it under my '58 apache. I used the original springs and the front axle lined up perfect. The only difference in the two were the arch of the springs and the width itself of the spring. The '58's are about 1/2" narrower than the '77's. I gained about 7" in height putting it in with stock springs. When I get to the rear end I may have to use blocks or order a lifted spring set. I'll try to get a couple of pics this week to show what I'm talking about. I love the new stance of my truck. It put the top of the firewall near my shoulders and I'm 6'-0" tall. Gotta love that for a four wheel drive.

Latr,
