What is the amp rating on a '69?

What is the amp rating for the stock '69 alternator? I am looking at changing over to a '76 set-up and would like to know what the difference is. I looked up the different models on the autozone and checkers website to see if there is a difference and they say that the ratings are roughly 60-63 apm each. Doesn't sound right to me?????
I would think that the older one would be less. Now correct me if I'm wrong but, the '76 should be an internal reg right???
