Well I finally got to do a little work to my truck!
Since I have 3-4 days off during the week, I figured I better do something constructive with it. Last sat. at work I used my lunch break to go to the local 4wheel parts store that is like 1 mile from my job and bought a new heavier duty steering stabilizer and a set of offroad spotter lights for the fron tof my truck. Well I finally made time wed. to put everything on. Ill get a pic of everything ASAP and post it here.
I was also having trouble starting the truck in the mornings because the fuel system was sucking air (diesel) somewhere. Well I did alot of reading on the coloradok5.com site for similiar problems and fixes which usually ended in changing the filter block. Well after checking prices against cash flow, I figured I would have to wait until I had the extra money to do the conversion to an aftermarket kit. Well I was talking to my dad about it since he is a Master Diesel Mechanic and he basically said we'll figure it out. With that said, I went ahead and finished with the light install on my truck and the next day he brought me a fuel filter assembly off a 10ton dump truck! Well after going to the hardware store to get fittings for it that would match my fule hoses and finding a redneck way to get it mounted it is on and working like a charm. I let the truck sit for over 14hrs and went out, hit the glow plugs a couple times and she fired right up without missing a beat! Sure am glad I dont have to go out in the morns in the middle of winter and crank on my truck just to get it started anymore!!
