Steering stops and other?
Alright i was doing the shocks on my truck today and first off what a great position for that top mount! busted a multi angle extension witha 1/2" driver. grr. That said i also noticed my turning stops are way too big i think. I've got 73 discs on this truck (69 c20) and it seems like i could shave probly an inch off the stops on the spindle. Anyone out there done this or say dont do it. I see no rubbing issues at all on the front or rear for at least like 4 inches or so. Will shaving those stops help my turning radius like i think it will?
Ok question 2 is i have the chance to buy a 70 something 350 4-bolt with a set of heads. The block he thinks is 40 over and has been sitting for about 15 years. Both items are off a 70's van so he said the heads are probly just smoggers. He also said possibly a steel crank in the thing. Anyways what should i offer this guy? I've never built an engine before but i wanna learn bad so i figure a 350 would be my cheapest bet. Thanks for the help all. ------------------ 69 Custom 20, 396BB,Longbed fleetside.
