Option A or B?

So I am rebuilding the inner bed sides of my fleetside long, and have a question.
does the lip in the btm of the bedside meet the lip on the wheel tub or does it go under the tub?

If anyone has photos like the ones here could you post them for me? I have some highschool students working on this with me and they are "visual" learners. I too could use the aid of having this shot in a mint condition picture.

Also I still have some factory undercoating (I think) on the inside of the tub, question is should I sandblast it off or work around it then reundercoat it?

Can someone also tell me how many bolt holes there are in the lip? If you could measure there placement I would love it.
