GMC Model vs. Series vs. VIN

I need some help clarifying the difference between a series number, a model number and the VIN number for GMCs. I have never seen the Service Parts Identification Sticker inside the Glove Box so I imagine mine was removed ages ago. I have a note on the owner’s manual stating that the model number is CE 1590 D but I don’t know where that came from. The fender emblem says 1500 but the VIN number shows CE 10 DZB. I have always called it a CE-1500 model but I think that refers to the Truck Series. Am I on the right track here?

What I really need to know, is the CE 1590 D really the actual model number?
