stiff gas pedal

here's a stupid little one that bugs me...............the gas pedal is stiffer than it should be,always has been sinced i owned it.so,i replaced the cable with a new one,routed with no kink,disassembled entire foot pedal setup ,firewall mount greased.got a new carb,not for that reason.and the damn thing still stiff,not bad after your going.must be in that pedal assembly somehow.i'm about ready to blow a 100 bucks on some aftermarket lokar hot rod pedal setup or something.
