Question 1972 Parking Brake Cable problems

Hello All! I'm a parts professional for a local auto supply chain in Cape Cod, MA. One of my customers recently purchased a 1972 C-10 long bed and he needs to replace his parking brake cables.

Every aftermarket source I've tried lists cables that end up being too short, by at least 3-4 inches, some as much as 8! Has anyone else run into this problem before, or is there an option on these trucks that perhaps none of the aftermarket manufacturers are aware of?

I've double checked that the customer's wheelbase is indeed 127" as all of the companies list. The cable that came out of the truck has the following measurements:
Overall Length: 47" (roughly... hard to measure the bends!)
Conduit Length: 36"

I'd like to find the correct parts for my customer. After all, that is my job, however it seems like every direction I take with my suppliers I hit the same wall. Any help that any of you can give is greatly appreciated!
