alpine amp wiring

ok yall i wasent sure where to ask this but im not sure about this. i have a 4ch 400watt alpine amp. i bought it for $10 and the guy that had it did some soldering inside and one channel doesent work so i only use 2ch. what im wondering is could i bridge those 2 channels and run my subs in a series and get better performance or would i be better off just hooking them 1 to each channel? it hits damn hard now but i was just wondering.
thanks,
John
