Which MC should I use??

I am getting ready to try and swap the discs from an '89 Suburban to my 68.
I have read that my drum MC will cause the calipers to hang and that I'll need a disc/drum MC. Should I use the MC from the Suburban(I'll probably by a reman) or buy one for a 71/72? I'm worried about the linkage working with the 'Burb MC and thought maybe I could get around that problem by using a 71-72 MC. Also, are the linkages the same for 68 and 71/72 MC's?
