OUCH! I saw the article in the new Custom Classic Trucks magazine about the 9+ rearend they put under a 72. It is an all new 9" that comes ready to bolt in for your application, disc brakes, e-cable, the whole works. I sent off for a price quote this morning just to compare against finding an old one in a yard and redoing it.
Here is there reply: A complete rear with our new 9+ round back housing, forged alloy 31 spline large bearing axles, complete 11" disc brake set up with parking brake and parking brake cables, GM 5 or 6 lug bolt pattern, posi 3rd. member with gears of your choice, trailing arm brackets installed, panhard rod bracket installed, new adjustable panhard rod, and new bolt on panhard rod frame bracket, and full assembly of the unit would run 2351.65. Sounds nice, but I think I can find one off an old Lincoln and go completely through it, have it modified for my trailering arms and be around 500.00. ------------------ 2001 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab Duramax, Allison, 4WD, Love it 1971 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 2WD Short/Step Side.
