Post Quick 700R4 question

Okay, I'm probably going to get my 700R4 from www.phoenixhardparts.com, namely because they're local and that's a good price for a tranny ($750 after core). The core charge is the same regardless of the transmission style...if you go to their site, they sell them by year (82-86 or 87-92; year choice is a no-brianer, the 87-up ones are stronger), displacement (2.8, 4.3, or 5.7...the choice is easy, lol...), and 2WD or 4WD (here's where the choice gets interesting). From what I hear, the 4WD cases are stronger. The core charges are all the same...so, assuming the 4WD 700R4 comes with a tailshaft (since I believe newer ones have the transfer case bolt to the tranny in place of the tailshaft?), would that be the one I want for my '70 GMC? It's a mild 350, so a stock tranny should be more than fine.
