General questions.

I have a few questions and need help. (I know, you can’t offer the type of help I need! )

First, I didn’t take off my oil filter housing or dip stick tube when I droped off the engine. Guess what, I didn’t get mine back….. I’m real anal about keeping everything original so this is bugging me. Probably not a big deal, just bugs me.
Anyway what about blocking the bypass on the filter housing? Is this good to do on a DD or street car?

Second, I looked at the hone job and at first glance I couldn’t see the cross hatch marks on the cylinder wall, but after closer inspection (with more light) I can see faint marks. Is this normal?

I’m just double checking everything…..I’m real close to disassembling the motor to check there work. (Please shoot me if I do)
Signed,
Paranoid in New Mexico.
