inside mirror mount

I have another question about the new 69 swb truck I just purchased. There are no holes in the inside roof skin between the visors where the rear view mirror should mount. If I am correct, on a 69 the rear view mirror bolts to the roof, not mounts to the w/s like my 72 did. If it matters, this is a very low optioned truck, could it have come without an inside rear view mirror?

I don't think the inside has been worked on before.
