HEI Question

I finally am ready to change out the old points dist. after all of my procrastination with points.I have seen quite a few good posts in the past giving info about where to disconnect the original wire from the ignition, what gage wire to install from the fuse block to the dist.
What later chevy year match to change the plug wires to existing(1972 402BB) I have had an HEI on the shelf in the garage for too long. Need some info.
