Shorten truck frame or convert blazer frame to 2wd?

Ok,so I'm working on a deal for a blazer tub and the frame comes with it...The bad part is that the frame is toast. There is another frame that could be used but I was also considering just shortening a 2wd truck frame.
So... y'all think I would be better off trying to convert the 4wd blazer frame to 2wd,add a rear coil suspension and bolt in a 2wd front suspension or....Take a 2wd truck frame, shorten it,add the blazer body mounts and then the chassis portion is complete enough that the tub can go on?
Now....I have the tools to make it happen either way but which do you think would be better/easier?
