More voltage regulator questions...

I was having probs with charging so I converted to an internal regulator set up. Thanks for all the previous posts concerning the wiring. However, I now get 13.8V at the rear of the alternator but only 13.05 at the battery (at idle, no load)...when I increase the RPM above about 1500 I blow a 30A fuse (placed, by the PO, where the fusable link used to reside). Any thoughts?
