stock fuel tank liner job & filter and sending unit

How do I remove the sending unit and pickup filter from a stock tank on a 69 truck? Is there anything to service inside???
The tank is out of truck and I was thinking about a liner job on the tank if it looks at all corroded. the local radiator shops will pickle it out , but they will not do a liner job in case something comes loose. I did an old Jeep tank years ago with 2 motorcycle tank kits,(10 gallon tank) and it has lasted now 20 years without fail. Does anyone have personal experience with this >??????
Thanks
