more Lt1 swap questions

I'm starting to looking into an LT1/auto combo for my truck and was wondering if I could have the VATs featured erased from the PCM via something like LS1 edit (I think they have LT1 edit, but don't know its features)

What years should I look for? Anything I should not get.

I'm going with the LT1 over the LS1 due to ease of installation. No engine mounts to move, easier gauge hookup, ect.

I will probably put a cam and upgrade valvetrain before I put it in. I plan on using my current headers (modified for O2 sensors)

Speaking of 02 sensors...do they half to be in the header, or can I move them back a little further and put them in the exhaust right after the collector? That would save me from messing up the coating on the headers?

How much do you think an Lt1/auto be at a local salvage yard. I'm watching ebay to see how much they're going for.
