68 C10 Stepside
Here are some pictures of my 68 C10 Stepside with a long bed. I was not very good taking pictures during the restoration process, lot's of little detail pictures I used to reassemble but no overall pics! I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, let me know what you think!
Attachment 278388 Attachment 278389 Attachment 278390 Attachment 278391 e: 68 C10 Stepside Wheels are 20" American Racing "Chrome Crush" with 265's that give me the same 31" height of the original wheels on the truck, I had to use a spacer on the rear tires to avoid rub, not too happy about that but had to make it work. The color is a 2003/2004 Chevy Avalanche color that my daughter picked out. Sorry, the only pre restoration pictures are actual prints and I'm not that adept at scanning them in. I bought the truck back in 2003 and the body was in pretty good shape overall but it was a mess mechanically. It had an old oil blowing 327 which wasn't the original so I dropped in a crate 350, I rebuilt the trans completely and I did the new wood floor in the box with oak. Last April I pulled it apart to start the paint process (it was a bad paint job of a medium Ford blue), the paint guy had it from April 16th until November 2 and I have been putting it back together since then as weather in Michigan allowed. The wheels and interior were the last things completed. Right now I am still messing with the new instrument cluster, I upgraded from an idiot light dash to a gage package one, they don't sell idiot light replacement dash or bezels for the 67 -68 with a choke so I moved up. I am having a tough time with the gas gauge and the battery indicator. Glad to hear everyone likes how it looks!
