intro for new guy

Hey guys,

I've been lurking for awhile. Everyone here seems like they know what they're doing and is pretty laidback from what i can tell. I'm working on a 63 longbed fleetside. The po said it had a 327 but if thats correct then it's not the stock motor, I plan to crawl under someday and pull the casting numbers, it's just such a pain. Also, the tranny has been swapped from the four on the floor to a column shift 350. It came with an edlebrock performer intake and funked up 750cfm carb which i just switched to a 600cfm. Runs like crazy now. I've also put on hooker headers and havn't had chance to mount my glasspacks yet but hopefully i'll get them on in the morning. Drums all the way around which I plan to switch to disc brakes but I'll probably leave the 4:11 gears. I'll post some pics up when I get a chance but if anyone wants to check out my build thread here feel free to do so: http://ratrodsrule.com/forum/showthread.php?t=178

also, looking for opinions on this. I want to convert to a flatbed but don't want the farm truck look. Being that my truck has coil suspension i'm thinking that i can chop off all extra frame post rear suspension. Then have two huge mean tires in the back and a low flat bed between them that widens out towards the front. any opinions? thanks!
