bezel swap: headlight dash hole?

i just gutted the stock wiring out of my truck to rewire with something more modern. everything is getting rewired for the LS1.

in the process, i am swapping from a 3-hole dash to a 7-hole dash.

problem: there are four provisions for switches on the dash. the headlight switch is in a different place on the 3-hole dash and 7-hole dash, and it has a unique 'keyhole' opening. well, the hole i need to put the headlight switch in isn't hkeyhole shaped

question: i realize i can get a dremel and file and grind/file my dash to put the headlight switch in the proper place for my 7-gauge bezel, but ... anyone have any tips to make the job easier?

if not, cool. i'm not sweating it and can't do it till tomorrow, so ... i figured i'd ask now.
