Yep !
Been there Done that'... pretty much the way you described..
I have an 80's era 350,, but the ramhorns hare REALLY HARD to find,, seems they're 20 different versions.. the curved drop dis different on most I saw..
I also hat to fab a new alternator bracket..
----regardless GET those casting #'s and store them away...
They come handy..
better days are ahead...
