New Guy from Sunny So FL

A number of years ago I was discussing buying an "Old Truck" with my wife. The very next day she bought me a Model "A" pickup - a beautifully detailed diecast model and told me to keep the one I have long enough and I'll have an old one. I just hate when she's right! 15 years later I have an "Old Truck". Many new parts purchased in the last few months getting ready to have some fun. 1992 GMC Sierra 5.7 4L60. Soon to have Edelbrock TBI manifold, cam, lifters, gears and shorty headers. Toying with the notion of porting and polishing the heads. Any opines on the value of putting that much work into TBI truck heads? It is still a daily driver and I tow with it fairly often.
