Replacing GMC cabs

I need some expert opinions! My 1969 GMC has some rust issues in the firewall, kick panels & above the windshield. I bought a 1968 GMC cab that is much better condition in those areas & plan to get this one repaired & painted before swapping cabs. My questions are should I keep the '68 hand brake lever or modify the cab for the foot pedal parking brake? I like the look of the '68 hood more than my squared off '69 & need some advice on what has to changed to get a '68 GMC hood to fit a 1969 GMC front end. If it takes a lot of changing, we will probably cut & modify a 69-72 hood to give it more layback. My last question is about the chrome trim on the back of the cab, below the back window. How do I put the trim on a cab that didn't have it originally? I plan to get it painted red & white, since the '68 cab is original red. TIA!
