Cobra IRS and Vette IFS???

I remember reading something about someone wanting to put a cobra or explorer IRS in one of our era trucks. I finially found me a 87 vette IFS complete for $300. I have been thinking about putting a cobra IRS in my blazer like my old man did in his 66 vette. I hate to cut up the bed floor for step notch when I could do the IRS and only have to make the wheel tubs taller and do a little notch for the upper arms. I am going to be making over 450 hp to the rear wheels so the IRS should hold up as long as I don't dump the clutch too much Good idea or not?
