3/4 to 1/2 ton rear springs

My C-20 has heavy duty 3/4 ton rear springs in it and I don't plan on using this truck as a 3/4 ton any more. The springs give the rear end a pretty rough ride. Can I put springs in it from a 1/2 ton? I'm almost certain I can but I just want to double check. Better safe than sorry, right?

If I only wanted two pedals I'd have bought a bicycle.
