My name is Steven and I live in Newbury Park, California. My project is a restoration of a '47 2nd series Chevy 1/2 ton. Sweet ride it will be. New disks in the front and a 3" drop on a straight axle. It will be custom to a point but I really like the old skool stuff so no power steering and I am using the old vacuum wipers. It will run on a 235 with an overdrive out of a '57 suburban (or so I was told) and a new Ford 9" rear end. Frame is complete and am at the present having the rear end lined up and a new driveshaft made. This is a cool hobby but not for everyone. If it weren't for my good buddies I would probably have bailed on it but they kept on me and now the end is in sight. This truck is really owned by 4 guys and I have learned so much about restoration and myself. I owned a '49 but it was wrecked a couple of years ago. Sad day. I hope to get a lot out of this forum as there is still a lot to do. It is great to have a way of communicating with truck nuts that I wouldn't ordinarily be able to meet.
