project problem child, update
so i finished the bed swap, although its still missing the floor in the bed, but that's nothing a sheet of plywood can't fix. so i went to the local wrecking yard just outside of base, which they almost know me by name(is that sad?) and i picked up some old rims of a 70's short bed gmc. these are the kind of rims that i have been wanting and all i paid was 50 bucks! but here comes the catch, they're dirty, chrome peeling off, one has almost no chrome left, blisters in the chrome, rust and galvanic corrosion(thank god i was in the corrosion control shop in my squadron) not to mention bad tires. but what else could i expect from $50 junk yard rims. so now the plan is to clean them up and give them a nice healthy coat of paint. so after i get off watch and go and pick up an edelbrock 1406 for $100 i will post some photos of the one that i cleaned(thank god i started with the bad one) and the next worse one. so all i gotta say now is EAT YOUR HEART OUT EL CHEAPO!!! hahaha. sorry sal, i couldn't really resist. but as i see parts i will let everyone know what's there and what is possibly still useable.
