The Longhorn Lives!
Today was a great day. I started the day by changing out the Elder Brock valve covers for Originals on my Custom C/10. I hate all that Chrome stuff. Then when I finished that, my buddy pulls up and we dive head on into the Longhorn trying to figure what I did wrong. About two 1/2 years ago I wired the junction box for both batteries and the alternator wrong and couldn't get no juice to the plugs. Today we fixed that and she fired right up. I thought it was a NASCAR Track the way the ole girl fired up. We had her running for about 2 minutes and then the gas started to come out of every orifice of the Carb. The Carb is holding allot of the fuel while running and then it starts to poor out the top areas of the carb by the sides. I will get that fixed hopefully this coming week.
For the first time in two years she fired up and ran strong. Now I have to fix the Carb. I am so happy I got my truck going again. I have been restoring this truck for 6 years. My hands smell like that nasty old gas, but that is okay because the truck is closer to driving. My Longhorn has been restored with parts from this board since I joined. This is a Board built truck. Thanks all for listening, just thought I would share the good news. I love my Longhorn
