scored some freebies/got mega lucky on undercoating
i thought i'd just try some simple laquer thinner and a rag on the undercoating. turns out it was really thin and just wiped away easily. i got it all off right inner fender lip and polished it, looks awesome, you can tell difference in two pics. you can also see on hood lip. on drivers side of firewall i also took some off and polished as a comparison. i'm stoked. also scored a perfect driver's inner fender, driver's fender, core support, perfect long fleet bed floor and headgate. i know earlier i said kick me if i ever started a build thread, but i am planning on starting on it. i am going to do one section at a time. i do not want to blow it all apart at once. i will pull the front end off and pull motor and tranny, detail everything, paint sheetmetal, and assemble. then i will move rearward. i do not want to do a total nut and bolt frame off. i want to be able to drive and enjoy it. having the freebie stuff will allow me to get it ready and have that much more done without tearing down. then i will have some good original stuff as a backup or to sell.
