Can you remove power distribution block on firewall?

I am wanting to clean up my engine bay alot and the power junction block (diamond shape thing mounted on firewall) is a big eyesore. I have seen alot of custom 73-87 era Trucks that have a completely smooth firewall or wires hidden that are not using this junction block, so it must be possible. I am not using the factory A/c system so the wire that goes to that won't be used now.

Anybody got any ideas or suggestions on this topic??
